Katla

Hurricane

Project Info

Katla takes its name from the Icelandic legend of a woman who disappeared into a glacial crevasse, a story later tied to the volcano that bears her name. The family of three hurricane lamps translates this tension between stillness and elemental force into a restrained composition: light held within a rhythm of slender vertical elements, repeated at three different heights. Individually, each lamp has a quiet presence; together, the changing proportions create a small landscape of light.
